Opportunities for Graduate Study

The Centre for Mental Health Research offers the opportunity for full-time or part-time study for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degrees by research. CMHR welcomes applications from students with first degrees in any area relevant to mental health, including psychology, medicine, epidemiology, sociology, statistics, neuroscience, economics, and policy.

How to apply

  1. Identify a suitable supervisor and obtain their support.
  2. Download the referees report templates and arrange for a suitable referee to submit their report directly to the university.
  3. Write a one page research proposal and complete the online ANU Postgraduate Research Program/Scholarship Application form. All forms are available here.

International students are required to pay an application fee of $A100 when the application is lodged.

 

Financial Support

The Australian National University funds and administers a range of scholarships, including Australian postgraduate Awards and ANU Graduate School Scholarships. Scholarships are based on academic merit and first class honours degree, or its equivalent, is often required. A full list of available scholarships can be obtained here.
