Research interests

  • Tim’s research interests broadly fall within the areas of social cognition and ageing, social gerontology and lifespan developmental psychology

Tim's specific projects are concerned with investigating psychosocial factors that promote resilience to stress (primarily through the PATH Through Life Project), and changes in the importance of these factors over the lifespan.  Tim also contributes to the DYNOPTA project, and is currently conducting a study into characteristics associated with ageing well among older couples.  An additional focus for research is concerned with issues related to driving among older adults, including the consequences of driving cessation for older adults, and the influence of social-cognitive factors on driving behaviour.
