Research Areas

Staff at the Centre for Mental Health Research have conducted studies in the field of ageing for over 20 years.

The establishment of the Ageing Research Unit in 2004 recognised the unique international and national contribution of the Centre's work on ageing, and provides a platform for conveying research results to the public, policy makers and media.

ARU researchers come from a range of backgrounds including psychology, psychiatry, epidemiology, biostatistics, health and social policy.

Researchers affiliated with the ARU undertake investigations in the following areas:
