Cross-National Longitudinal Data Comparison

A research program of cross-national comparisons of individual and population ageing between Australia, the United States and European and Asian countries is being developed. The research will inform policy development by examining how societal and policy differences between countries influence key health, work-force, and well-being outcomes for ageing individuals. Preliminary harmonization work is being undertaken to compare the U.S. Health and Retirement Survey (HRS) with HILDA to establish whether similar patterns of workforce participation in relation to self rated health (SRH) are evident in both countries.
