Dementia Risk Factor Review ProjectThe Dementia Risk Factor Review Project commenced in 2005 to determine the impact of risk factors such as health and lifestyle on cognitive function in both late and middle-adulthood. This project involves conducting a series of systematic reviews on modifiable risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, mild cognitive impairment and cognitive decline in normal ageing. We have completed reviews on smoking1 , serum cholesterol2 and alcohol consumption, and are presently undertaking reviews in relation to body weight. This project is conducted in conjunction with the Dementia Collaborative Research Centre led by Associate Professor Marc Budge from Geriatric Medicine, ANU.
