CMHR staff win awards

At an awards ceremony held on 29th July 2004 to honour staff excellence at ANU, Centre for Mental Health Research staff received several awards from the Vice-Chancellor.

The PATH Through Life Project Team received Council Medals for Excellence and a shared prize of $4,000. The medals acknowledged the performance of the PATH Team in using innovative survey methods and keeping a high retention rate in survey participants.

Betty Kitchener received a Community Outreach Award for her work on developing the Mental Health First Aid course. This award is given to a person who has contributed time, skills and expertise to community outreach programs and activities in excess of the normal requirements of the position.

Helen Christensen and Kathy Griffiths shared a Prize for Innovative IT Application on Campus in recognition of their highly successful MoodGYM and BluePages web sites to help people suffering from depression.

Other awardees were Sara Vancea, Bruce Hoogendoorn, Nick Newman, Jenny Stewart, Karen Maxwell, Barbara Banvill, Carolan Marstin, Brian McNamara and Betty Smith.
